Frequently Asked Questions
How do I schedule an appointment to see you?
Call me or send me an email and I will reply with my available times/days. Please be sure to include good days/times to reach you so that we may connect quickly. I offer a free 30-minute phone consultation to get a better sense if we are the right fit.

How long are the sessions and how often do we need to meet?
Typically, sessions are 50-minutes. I encourage us to meet once a week, particularly during the initial stage of therapy. It has been my experience that weekly sessions are most productive especially when working through some tough issues. Particularly when working with children, I find that they need the consistency and time to build trust and establish a therapeutic alliance. If too much time lapses between meetings, each new session is like starting all over again. At times, however, therapy reaches a point where one just needs a little "maintenance" in which case, we can switch to once or twice a month.

What can I expect from my first session?
During your first session, I will first go over some of the logistics including payment and consent forms. Then, I will want to spend most of the first session getting some history information to better assess your needs and treatment goals. If I am meeting with your child, depending on their age, I may meet with you and your child together at first until they are comfortable to meet with me alone. Depending on the need of your child, I may ask to meet with you for the first session to obtain a thorough history assessment without the child present.
